VEG DUMPLINGS

INGREDIENTS:
  • Cabbage : 2 cups (Finely chopped)
  • Potatoes : 2 (Medium sized)
  • Coriander : 5 tea spoons (chopped)
  • Pepper : 1/4 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder : A pinch
  • Salt : As per taste
  • Chilli powder : 3 tea spoons (or as per our taste)
  • Ginger garlic paste : 1 tea spoon
  • Garam masala powder : 1/4 tea spoon
  • Corn flour : 5 tea spoons
  • Bengal gram flour (Besan/ Senaga pindi) : 5 tea spoons
  • Onions : 1/2 cup (chopped into long slender pieces)
  • Green Chillies : 5-6 (Cut into long slender pieces)
  • Garlic : 2 tea spoons (chopped)
  • Curry leaves : Few
  • Tomato sauce : 2 tea spoons
  • Soya/Chilli sauce : 2 tea spoons
  • Red Food colour : A pinch
  • Lemon Juice : 2 tea spoons
  • Oil : For deep frying

PROCEDURE:

  • Boil potatoes, peal off the skin and smash them.
  • Now, in a wide bowl, mix chopped cabbage, boiled and smashed potatoes, coriander, pepper, turmeric, salt, chilli powder, Garam masala powder, Ginger garlic paste, Corn flour and Bengal gram flour.

  • Put a frying pan, pour oil and heat it.
  • Put the above mixture in oil in form of small balls and fry (like pakoda). Keep them aside.

  • Now take another frying pan, put 4 tea spoons of oil and add Garlic pieces, onion pieces, Green chilli pieces, a pinch of salt, a pinch of garam masala powder, Ginger garlic paste, few curry leaves and fry them all for 2 minutes.
  • Now add a pinch of red food colour (previously dissolved in some water), mix well and add 1/2 tea spoon of corn flour by dissolving it in 3 tea spoons of water and mix well.

  • Then add the fried dumplings, mix slowly and cook for one minute.

  • Now take the whole thing in to a serving bowl, sprinkle lemon juice, garnish with coriander, chillies and onions....................and your delicious Dumplings are ready to eat!!!!!
