Now you need not go out for buying khulfis anymore......try this recipe and feel the delight!!!
Ingredients:
Milk : 1 litre
Carrots : 2 (cut into pieces)
Cashew : 50 g
Badam : 25 g
Sugar : 250 g (2 small cups)
Custard powder (Pineapple flavour) : 2 tea spoons
Dry coconut powder (yendu kobbari thurumu) : 1 tea spoon
Procedure :
- Boil carrot pieces, 40 g of cashew, 10 badam and 1 small glass full of milk in a pressure cooker (2 or 3 whistles). Cool and grind into a soft paste.
- Now boil 1 litre of milk until it becomes 1/2 litre.
- Now add the above paste with cotinuous stirring to prevent formation of lumps and then add sugar.
- Dissolve two spoons of custard powder (pineapple flavour) in 1/4th glass of cold milk and add to the above mixture. Switch off the stove.
- Add dry coconut powder (add only 1 spoon as more amount would spoil the taste) and 5 tea spoons of grated badam (thurumu), badam pieces and cashew pieces. Mix well and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Now pour it in moulds and keep in freezer for an hour and...... Cool... Cool...Khulfis are ready to chill you!!!!!
